Nowhere else we work has a tree that interferes with a roof inspection the way the loblolly pines do here. Needles collect in the valleys and behind chimney crickets, mat down, hold moisture against the shingles, and — the part that matters after a storm — cover the exact surfaces where hail evidence sits.
