Trusted roofing company in Round Rock, TX. The hardest-hit town in our service area, and the one with the thickest storm record to prove it.
Most hail passes. It crosses a town in a few minutes and moves on. That is not what the National Weather Service record shows for Round Rock on 24 September 2023.
Fourteen separate reports were logged at Round Rock and Old Round Rock between 19:50 and 20:27 that evening — thirty-seven minutes of continuous large hail. It escalated as it went: 1.75-inch at 19:50, 2.75-inch at 19:54, 3.50-inch at 19:55 and again at 19:57, 3.00-inch at Old Round Rock at 20:00, then 3.00-inch, 2.25-inch, and finally 4.00-inch at 20:21 — the entry carrying the largest property damage estimate in Williamson County’s record — with 3.75-inch six minutes behind it.
This matters more than the headline stone size. A roof struck once by four-inch hail takes a defined set of impacts. A roof struck continuously for over half an hour takes the small stones first, which strip granules and abrade the surface, and then takes the large ones on a mat that has already lost its protection.
That sequence produces bruising deeper than the final stone size alone would suggest, and it is a large part of why Round Rock roofs from that night have continued failing on a delay — through 2024, through 2025, and still now.
Round Rock also appears in the record on 15 April 2021, with 1.75-inch at 15:17 and 15:23 and 2.00-inch at 15:25. A roof that took two-inch hail in 2021 and then thirty-seven minutes of escalating hail in 2023 has been through two events, and the second landed on a surface the first had already weakened.
If your roof has not been looked at since either, a current dated inspection establishes what it looks like today — which is the one piece of evidence that cannot be created after the fact.
We inspect and photograph each slope as its own record, measure, and hand over a written estimate whether you file a claim, pay out of pocket, or decide the roof still has life in it. Where damage is limited we say so and show you the photographs that support it.
Start with a roof inspection. If the findings are isolated, review your roof repair options; if age or widespread damage makes repairs impractical, compare the roof replacement process.
