Why fiber cement siding makes sense in Central Texas

Central Texas is hard on a home’s exterior. Long, hot summers, strong sun, sudden hail and the occasional wet spell all take a toll. Fiber cement siding is a good fit for these conditions for a few well-established reasons:

• It handles heat and hail better than vinyl. Fiber cement is a dense, rigid material. It is not prone to the warping and sagging vinyl can show in high heat, and it generally stands up to hail better than vinyl, which can crack or puncture.
• It is non-combustible. Fiber cement will not ignite or add fuel to a fire, which gives many homeowners peace of mind.

Siding for existing homes

We install James Hardie fiber cement on existing homes, including exterior remodels, following the manufacturer’s installation instructions. We do not take on new-construction siding.

Siding replacement

Removing old, damaged or failing siding (vinyl, wood or older fiber cement) and replacing it with James Hardie fiber cement.

Storm and hail damage siding repair

Hail and wind can crack, chip or dent siding on the sides of the house that face the storm. We inspect the damage, document what we find with photos, and repair or replace the affected sections. If you are filing an insurance claim, we can walk you through the damage we found, though the carrier makes the final decision on coverage.

Trim, soffit and fascia

We can replace worn trim, soffit and fascia at the same time, so the whole exterior is finished together.

Color options

We can paint your new fiber cement siding in the color you choose, or install pre-finished James Hardie ColorPlus boards.

How the process works

• Inspection. We walk the exterior with you, look at the condition of the siding, trim and any storm damage, and talk through what you want.
• Estimate. You get a free written estimate that spells out the scope of work and the materials, so you know what is included before anything starts.
• Installation. Our crew removes the old material where needed, checks the wall underneath, and installs the new siding and trim.
• Cleanup. We clean up the job site, haul away debris, and do a final walk-through with you before we call the job done.
